Tax deductible donations are gratefully accepted at any time.  Please call the office, 440-943-1134  for details.

Scholarship recipients for the 2005 year are Rachel Kennedy, Cari Kristoff and Patrick Wensing, all Wickliffe High School graduates.  Our congratulations to them all, and our thanks to all who applied.

Rachel Kennedy is the daughter of Bob Kennedy and Yvonne Kennedy.  She plans to attend Lakeland Community College, studying physical and massage therapy.

Rachel ranked 30 in her graduating class of 122 graduates with a GPA of 3.33.  She has been active in volleyball, softball, swimming, Project Love, Rebuilding Together Lake County, Foresters, Girl Scouts and the Clean City Commission.

Wickliffe High School counselor Ms.  White declares "Rachel is a very capable, co-operative and hard working young lady.  She is determined to be successful in school and she has the qualities to reach her goal."  Her social studies teacher, Ms. Pillar, says, "Rachel is an honest, caring and dedicated young woman.  She gives much of herself to her peers and her community.  Her caring nature sets her apart from so many young women in her position...she is every coaches' ideal of what it takes to be a member of a team.  She is an inspiration to others."

Cari Kristoff is the daughter of Bruce and Cheryl Kristoff.  She will be attending the University of Cincinnati, studying broadcast journalism in foreign languages.

Cari ranked fourth in her graduating class of 122 with a GPA of 4.09.  A member of the National Honor Society, she also was in the Scholarship Club and on Student Council.  Cari was elected Vice President of her class in 2004-2005 and was chair of the Homecoming Dance.  Active in cheerleading and school musicals, she was in the Rockefeller Road Review, played the lead in Grease and was Faintine in Les Miserable.  She has volunteered for the school band programs, and at St. Felicitas and St. Noel churches, and at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.

"Cari is an incredible young lady who has all of the personal qualities to be productive and successful.  She has been an excellent role model and asset to our school," states Wickliffe High School counselor Ms. White.

Wickliffe High School teacher Ms. Hotchkiss says, "I have found Cari to be an exemplary young woman, who is a clear standout not only for her academics, but also for her character."

Patrick Wensing is the son of Daniel and Pamela Wensing.  He will be attending Ohio State University, studying computer engineering.

Patrick ranked third in his graduating class of 122.   He was President of his 2004-2005 class, served on Student Council and was captain of the Academic Challenge team for two years.  He also was on the  robotics team, 2003 NEORC champions.  Patrick was in the marching, concert and jazz bands which won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, and was in the Rockefeller Road Review.  He also served as a volunteer tutor on the trumpet at the Middle School.  Leadership Lake County and Lubrizol's Community Advisory Panel counted him among their members

Wickliffe High School principal Ms. Weatley commented, "Patrick not only does outstanding academically but takes on huge responsibilities with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.  One of his strongest attributes is being a leader...and he is one of our best fundraisers."

"Patrick is an incredible young man who is not only an outstanding scholar but also a dedicated and talented musician.  His leadership abilities and personal activities are excellent and he will be successful in anything he pursues," says Wickliffe High School counselor Ms. White.

Scholarship applications for 2006 will be available in the spring of 2006.
