Officers
and trustees of the Foundation for the year 2005-2006 are President Paul
Sirko, Treasurer Rick Zalecky, and trustees Nancy Fisher, Terry Lazar, Bob
Majikas and Tom Talty, Jr.

The
Chamber Scholarship Foundation has granted 42 scholarships since 1986 to resident
high school seniors attending public or private schools, representing over
$55,000.00 in scholarship monies. Scholarship monies have come from the Chamber’s general fund,
fundraisers (such as our Golf Outing and Victorian Tea raffles and our
"Pasta-bilities" dinner) and from
generous donations from our member businesses. Tax deductible donations
are gratefully accepted at any time.

Scholarship recipients for the 2005 year are Rachel
Kennedy, Cari Kristoff and Patrick Wensing, all Wickliffe High School
graduates. Our congratulations to them all, and our thanks to all
who applied.

Rachel Kennedy
is the daughter of Bob Kennedy and Yvonne Kennedy. She plans
to attend Lakeland Community College, studying physical and massage
therapy.
Rachel ranked 30 in her graduating class of 122
graduates with a GPA of 3.33. She has been active in
volleyball, softball, swimming, Project Love, Rebuilding Together
Lake County, Foresters, Girl Scouts and the Clean City Commission.
Wickliffe High School counselor Ms. White
declares "Rachel is a very capable, co-operative and hard working
young lady. She is determined to be successful in school and
she has the qualities to reach her goal." Her social studies
teacher, Ms. Pillar, says, "Rachel is an honest, caring and
dedicated young woman. She gives much of herself to her peers
and her community. Her caring nature sets her apart from so
many young women in her position...she is every coaches' ideal of
what it takes to be a member of a team. She is an inspiration
to others."

Cari Kristoff is the daughter of Bruce
and Cheryl Kristoff. She will be attending the University of
Cincinnati, studying broadcast journalism in foreign languages.
Cari ranked fourth in her graduating class of
122 with a GPA of 4.09. A member of the National Honor
Society, she also was in the Scholarship Club and on Student
Council. Cari was elected Vice President of her class in
2004-2005 and was chair of the Homecoming Dance. Active in
cheerleading and school musicals, she was in the Rockefeller Road
Review, played the lead in Grease and was Faintine in Les Miserable.
She has volunteered for the school band programs, and at St.
Felicitas and St. Noel churches, and at Rainbow Babies and
Children's Hospital.
"Cari is an incredible young lady who has all
of the personal qualities to be productive and successful. She
has been an excellent role model and asset to our school," states
Wickliffe High School counselor Ms. White.
Wickliffe High School teacher Ms. Hotchkiss
says, "I have found Cari to be an exemplary young woman, who is a
clear standout not only for her academics, but also for her
character."

Patrick Wensing is the son of Daniel and
Pamela Wensing. He will be attending Ohio State University,
studying computer engineering.
Patrick ranked third in his graduating class of
122. He was President of his 2004-2005 class, served on
Student Council and was captain of the Academic Challenge team for
two years. He also was on the robotics team, 2003 NEORC
champions. Patrick was in the marching, concert and jazz bands
which won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, and was in the Rockefeller
Road Review. He also served as a volunteer tutor on the
trumpet at the Middle School. Leadership Lake County and
Lubrizol's Community Advisory Panel counted him among their members
Wickliffe High School principal Ms. Weatley
commented, "Patrick not only does outstanding academically but takes
on huge responsibilities with co-curricular and extra-curricular
activities. One of his strongest attributes is being a
leader...and he is one of our best fundraisers."
"Patrick is an incredible young man who is not
only an outstanding scholar but also a dedicated and talented
musician. His leadership abilities and personal activities are
excellent and he will be successful in anything he pursues," says
Wickliffe High School counselor Ms. White.
