Committees

Membership Develop membership drive and work with program committee to set up programs to attract new members and serve our present members.  Work actively to gain new members.  Serve as ambassadors to welcome members.  Update Business and Industry Directory.
Program Develop ideas/topics for meetings, activities, etc. and assist with putting them on, such as breakfast and luncheon meetings, business mixers, Supportive Staff luncheon and Supportive Staff award, Annual Meeting and Business and Civic Person of the Year Awards.
Beautification Work on projects to improve appearance and perception of community, especially Euclid Avenue, such as Geranium Sale and Victorian Teas and flower planting.
Economic Development Develop goals, program and assistance to small businesses.  Support Community Reinvestment Area legislation.  Welcome Wickliffe mugs for new businesses.  Tips on Starting or Owning a Business in Wickliffe brochure.  Special projects for merchants such as: advertising together; Holiday business window decorating project, Dining and Shopping/Services Brochure.
Strategic Plan Develop long-range plans/goals for Chamber (chaired by President-Elect).
By-Laws review yearly (or as needed).
Special Projects/Fund-Raisers Develop and work on community projects which also could be fund-raisers for Chamber, such as Golf Outing.  Support parades/community events as feasible.
Newsletter/Communications Work to bring in ads for THE BUSINESS NETWORK.  Write articles, evaluate and review.
Legislation Attend government meetings.  Prepare information for the newsletter to educate and alert members and business community at large.  Poll members on legislative issues.   Study issues on ballot and make recommendations to Board.  Organize Candidates and Issues meetings as needed.  Support Community Reinvestment Area Legislation, and GROW legislative survey of small businesses with Ohio Chamber Small Business Council.
Finance Set budget (chaired by treasurer).
Nominations Prepare slate of officers and trustees.  Be alert to members who would make good board members (chaired by President-elect).
Scholarship Foundation Evaluate scholarship applications and make recommendations re scholarships and recipients.  Help with fund raising.
Ad Hoc - Chamber Benefits Review benefits programs and recommend participation.
Ad-Hoc - Information Technology Advise on other communication forms, i.e. Web Page, computer faxing, etc.
Speakers Bureau Develop "stump speech" to explain and promote Chamber; speak to local organizations/businesses
